Leesfield Scolaro March events – Supreme Court Justice Fred Lewis and Third DCA Judge Ed Scales will speak at March 28th CLE Luncheon/Conch Fritters at Night

For the past 22 years, March has been an eventful month for our law firm and the Monroe County Bar Association. This year is no different, as we welcome Supreme Court Justice Fred Lewis and Third DCA Judge Ed Scales as keynote speakers to our CLE luncheon to be held at Mangoes Restaurant on March 28th. The luncheon is sponsored by our Firm and is complimentary. Two CLE credits are available to those in attendance. Our judicial guests will address current and significant changes in judicial administration. Over 70 guests have already responded to this sold out event.

Keeping with the tradition of welcoming and celebrating the important work of our judiciary, the day continues with our Annual Conch Fritter and Margarita Party from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The Leesfield Scolaro social gathering has become an important tradition for the past 22 years and brings together clients, friends, judicial administrators and court personnel, as well as all of the Monroe County judiciary. As usual, the venue is our historic Key West office.

Leesfield Scolaro sponsors a number of Key West charitable organizations and functions including the Marques Butler Memorial Softball annual tournament held in Key West honoring the spirit and memory of Marques Butler. The fund raising event benefits the scholarship fund which provides financial assistance to college-bound Key West High School student athletes. Likewise, the Monroe County Bar Association “Justice for All Crawl” 5K annual race which provides scholarships to local high school students who are interested in the legal profession, is always supported by our firm. Most recently, we supported the Monroe County Bar “Glow Run with Theme Runs.”

Our 40-year active practice in Key West and the Florida Keys has resulted in over 1,000 cases successfully resolved with verdicts ranging from $70,000 to $40.5 million verdict, and hundreds of mediations and settlements, according to Managing Partner, Ira Leesfield.

All of our lawyers and staff participate in keeping our Monroe County practice vibrant as we serve clients and co-counsel locally and from around the country, remarked Partner Tom Scolaro. In the first quarter of 2018, we filed numerous lawsuits to protect residents of Key West as well as those injured as travelers from out of state, said Partner Justin Shapiro. Recently filed cases included:

  • Barrett v. Wheatman Towing
  • Estate of Belser v. Depoo Hospital
  • Williams v. Thomas
  • Wood v. Royal Plus

We look forward to seeing our friends and colleagues at both CLE luncheon and dinner festivities.

Please be sure to call us if you can attend.
